LECTURE TOPICS

8:45am-10:15am – Kathleen Marden
Betty and Barney Hill: Setting the Record Straight:

Debunkers have had a field day with the Betty and Barney Hill UFO Experience (the first publicized UFO close encounter and alien abduction in the US), disseminating so much false and misleading information over the past 45 years that most people have difficulty separating fact from fiction. In her totally new Powerpoint Presentation, Kathleen Marden, their niece, exposes the most flagrant false claims made by Carl Sagan, Philip Klass, and others and sets the record straight, time and time again, by presenting true documented evidence that indicates some well known debunkers are not only wrong, but have carefully manipulated the publics’ perception of the Hill case.

10:30am-12:00pm – Jeff & Jess Finn
World Premiere of documentary film, Strange Septembers: The Hill Abduction & The Exeter Encounter

September 19, 1961. White Mountains, New Hampshire. Close Encounter of the Third Kind. First modern alien abduction. Were Betty and Barney Hill really taken aboard a UFO? Was the CIA involved? Was there a connection to the Roswell Incident? What really happened to the Hills that night in the darkness of the White Mountains?

September 3, 1965. Exeter, New Hampshire. Close Encounter of the First Kind. 18-year-old hitchhiker about to enter the Navy. Two well-respected police officers. All three men witnessed a UFO. Was there more to their shared claim than a mere sighting? What role did the Air Force play? What really happened to Norman Muscarello, Eugene Bertrand, and David Hunt near a dark field in the dead of night?

2:00pm-3:30pm – nuclear physicist/lecturer Stanton Friedman
The Betty Hill Star Map in Perspective

“As a scientist I have been intrigued about the star map ever since first reading about it more than 40 years ago… I met with Marjorie Fish who built more than two dozen different three-dimensional models to try to identify the pattern stars in the map. I was the first to publish an article about her work and instigated the very important article in Astronomy magazine. I am still fascinated.

The map gives us a sensible new perspective on our local galactic neighborhood. Unfortunately it forces us to recognize that Copernicus was wrong. The Sun is not the middle of the universe. We Earthlings are not the big shots in the neighborhood. It is worth reviewing what was observed and what it means to recognize that the base stars are not only a billion years older than the sun, but are just down the street from us and are more than 30 times closer to each other than the sun is from our nearest stellar neighbor. New paradigms are needed.”
